This beautiful antique Long guard chain dates to the late 19th Century. Crafted from a rich and buttery 9ct gold, it features a stunning tight narrow fancy belcher link which has a gorgeous patina. All the links are secure and free of dinks. A dog clip sits at the end of the chain, marked for ready to hold pendants or charms. Its makers mark is just about visible; J & C. This chain is made all the more unique and versitile by its wonderful marquise shaped slider. It features a central Opal, four bright blue turquoise stones and 12 tiny seed pearls.
Solid gold Longuards have been a fashion staple for over a century, and at this great length, they are highly sought after. Their versitility means they can be worn alone, wrapped once, twice or even thrice around the neck, or in a stack with longer or shorter chains.
This chain measures 50 inches with its dog clip, and weighs a comfortable 16.57g. It can be wrapped around the neck twice for that dream neck stack in one and its dog clip will hold charms or pendants.
